Each eatery has been specially selected not only to represent the best examples of Hong Kong cuisine but also for the unique and interesting stories behind them. Samples of food and drinks are included in the ticket price.

History, Architecture & Culture

Along our food tour, your local Foodie guide will share fun facts about the Central & Sheung Wan area, introduce you to important historical figures, and lead you to beautiful architecture that still remains. As we meander from one tasting location to another, we will also walk through Hong Kong’s oldest remaining open market which will soon disappear due to redevelopment.

What Our Customers Say

Outstanding local food with a local

I do “the food tour” in every city I visit hoping to have an afternoon to wander around with a local and eat the food in the places where the locals eat. This was that tour! Everything was delicious, of course, but it was the storytelling and history that accompanied every bite that made this the best of about a dozen such tours I’ve done over the years. Great value, great group, and in Cecilia, a great guide.

Fun and delicious family outing

Highly recommend this tour for first time visitors. Fun and informative, the Central & Sheung Wan Foodie Tour is not only about food, but also Hong Kong’s unique history and culture. With six food stops on the tour, the food is great and plenty, so be sure to not eat before the tour. Luckily, there is also enough walking in between and some stops for general attractions, perfect for helping with digestion but also with gaining a better understanding of this very cool city. Our guide, Yammy, was fun and it shows that she enjoys the tour and talking about her home town and its culinary history. My wife and I, with our three teenage daughters, would have done another tour, if we‘d have stayed longer.

Educate your kids this Summer

What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with the family. Having lived in Hong Kong for a year, my wife and I and our two young daughters had tried some of these foods before but never knew why or how they fit into the local culture. The Central & Sheung Wan Foodie Tour we were on, guided by the fabulous Lilian, was not only a well thought through tour, it also supports local vendors and restaurants, showcasing how they produce quality food with age old traditions. A great way to engage our children in a food adventure where they could explore little side streets, cavernous food markets, taste delicious treats and hear about how food connects with the history and culture of Hong Kong. Definitely worth doing if you are staying put in Hong Kong this Summer and a must if you are a visitor!
